Research coverage audit.
Checked 15 October 2026. A targeted coverage check, not a complete census or systematic evidence review.
What we checked
ClinicalTrials.gov searches returned 61 broad Canadian keyword matches and 46 narrower matches. All 46 were already in the broader set: these are 61 unique records, not 107. We compared their IDs, statuses and update dates with the directory and reviewed unmatched titles and summaries for relevance.
We also checked Long COVID Web, the BC Post-COVID network and selected university and study-team pages. Canadian-led research without Canadian registry sites can be missed by location searches. Unregistered studies and French-language sources need further coverage.
What changed
- Added the Long COVID Patient Experience Project, an online observational project whose official page invites participation.
- Added a dapagliflozin research summary linked to the existing upcoming Ottawa DALCO listing. The registry has no posted results and still says not yet recruiting.
- No status or last-update-date changes were found among the existing directory records returned by the broad registry search. Earlier full-entry check dates are retained.
What was not added
- Completed, withdrawn and terminated trials remain outside the participation directory. They may still be relevant to treatment evidence.
- Acute-COVID prevention studies and unrelated keyword matches were excluded.
- The University of Victoria cognitive study page says it is closing out and beginning analysis.
- Ottawa’s “Share your story” project publicly invites participants: it is recruiting interest in broader disability and chronic-illness research, and the same page says ethics approval is pending. It is not Long COVID-specific. Ask the team whether interviews can begin before making plans.
- Long COVID Web includes UK language research and broader Laval projects; Canadian participation and Long COVID-specific scope need checking before inclusion. Duplicate Laval titles should not be counted as separate studies without clarification.
Remaining coverage work
Verify the McGill brain-imaging recruitment notice through a current accessible study-team source, clarify the Laval projects, and expand French-language and provincial searches. A missing listing does not mean no study exists.
Next treatment reviews
- Vortioxetine: a Canadian randomized study is available. Its overall unadjusted cognitive comparison was not statistically significant; secondary outcomes and CRP-related analyses need to remain distinct. Full outcome, harms and follow-up review comes next.
- Lithium aspartate: a published randomized trial is identified. Extract the controlled outcomes and harms before adding a summary.
- LAU-7b / ESSOR: the Canadian registry record is completed. Locate and assess any posted or published outcomes; completion alone is not evidence of benefit.
These are editorial review priorities, not treatment recommendations.
