Preparing campaignCampaign updated: 11 Oct 2026

Access to Long COVID care. Clear referral pathways. Accessible services. Ask your health minister for a care plan.

Building the case for better care.

LCAC is preparing its request: Share a care gap or comment on the letter to help shape it. LCAC has not yet sent its own campaign request.

What you can do now: Send the draft letter below to your health minister, or share a care gap to help shape the campaign.

How we use your feedback

Your submission stays private. We will ask before publishing any part. Sharing an experience helps our advocacy; it does not arrange medical care or a referral.

A clear route to care, not another dead end.

When someone needs help for Long COVID, finding the right service should not depend on repeatedly searching, explaining their illness or working out the system alone. This campaign asks governments to make the route to care clear and make services reachable.

What we want a care plan to deliver

Know where to turn

Public information on available assessment and care, who is eligible, how referrals work and what happens when a service is unavailable.

Care people can reach

Services that accommodate limited energy, disability, being housebound and distance from specialist care, with knowledgeable clinicians and ongoing support.

Commitments people can track

Named responsibility for improvements, public timelines and progress reports, with people living with Long COVID involved in developing and reviewing the plan.

The request is for services and follow-through, not simply a document. A published plan should explain what is available now, what needs to improve and how those improvements will happen.

Ways to help.

Ask your health minister for a care plan.

Write to your provincial or territorial health minister. Ask their government to publish a Long COVID care plan that explains:

Choose your province or territory below. Read the letter, replace the brackets and send it to the listed contact.

Read and copy the draft letter
Dear Minister of Health,

I live in [province or territory]. I am asking your government to publish a Long COVID care plan.

[Optional: one sentence about a difficulty you or your family have faced getting care.]

Please explain:
1. How people can access assessment and care, including a clear referral pathway.
2. How services will be accessible to people who are housebound, have limited energy or live far from specialist care.
3. Who is responsible for delivering the plan, when improvements will happen and how progress will be reported publicly.

Please provide a written reply with current services, planned improvements and timelines. Please involve people living with Long COVID in developing and reviewing the plan.

Thank you,
